Chloe and David

On the first day that I met Alex, we were talking about our photography and he told me that he likes photographing people and buildings and one day he hoped to own a tilt shift lens. As time went on, he told me again that he wanted a tilt shift lens and I said, “don’t be silly, what on earth would you do with it other than photograph buildings?”

He replied, “I could take it to a wedding and photograph people with it.”

I laughed and said he was silly and it would be a waste of money.

Five years later, shooting weddings and portraiture with a tilt shift lens has become a way to really enhance the beauty in selected images… and Alex finally had his chance to buy his much wanted tilt shift lens (and he reminds me regularly that I scoffed at the idea of shooting people with one.)

So this is Alex’s first wedding with the lens. He loves it. It doesn’t suit shooting an entire wedding but there are parts where it really makes a difference.

Chloe and David’s day was just perfect and it was the ultimate wedding to try out some new stuff. How amazing do they look and check out the fantastic location… which happens to be the same location that Alex and I had our own wedding photos taken. After the location photos it was off to Evergreen Pavillion Restaurant  to party the night away.

Congratulations Chloe and David.

Photographed by Alex with Matt Leasegang.
