Rachael and Tim

Some of you may remember this awesome and rainy pre-wedding shoot , well just a few days later, Katie and I shot Rachael and Tim’s wedding.

The day started out pouring with rain and with an outdoor ceremony planned, this sort of put a dampener on things (pardon the pun). However Rachael and Tim didn’t let it phase them. We shot in the hotel where they were both getting ready and they nearly ran in to each other in the lobby while Katie and I were shooting the boys. Luckily a hasty retreat by the girls meant that the coast was clear and we were able to carry on. Even with the rough start to the day, Rachael and Tim took it in their stride and were as cool as cucumbers… and in Rachael’s case, as cool as cucumbers that laugh. A lot.

I adore brides who just go along with the day and Rachael certainly did. I don’t think I’ve seen a bride smile as much as Rachael and I have the proof in the photos! I knew we were all going to have fun when I shot the pre-wedding session and I wasn’t disappointed. Things started to get better and better when the rain cleared in time for Rachael and Tim to have the wedding in the Australian bush surrounds of Walkabout Creek just as they had planned.

The national park was a vivid green in many places due to all the recent rain and it made for some great photos. As the sun started to drop we made our way up to the reception where Rachael and Tim were welcomed as husband and wife.

Congratulations Rachael and Tim.

I don’t usually include the family photos on the blog, however I had to add these two to show what sort of chaos often ensues at weddings while organising the ‘official’ shots.

Some beautiful work. Love the shots in the forest. The way you have created a sense on intimacy using the light and surrounding elements is quite remarkable.

Great stuff! I particularly love the capture of her brilliant laugh in the window light and the bokeh-couple through the leaves.
